Let's Geek Out:
Coffee: Use freshly roasted coffee and grind just before brewing. For peak flavor, coffee should be used within 4 weeks of roasting.
Water: Heat your water to between 195 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ratio: Use 1.5–2.0 grams of whole bean coffee per 28 grams (1 oz) of water. One of the best ways to improve your brew is to get a scale to measure out the coffee and water. This ratio is a good starting point, but as always, follow your taste buds!
Grind: The grind makes all the difference. If you are looking for a solid intro grinder, check out the Baratza Encore in our equipment section. If you are planning on jumping into the rabbit hole of espresso, check out the Baratza Sete 30 and 270Wi.
Storage: To keep your whole bean coffee fresh, store in an airtight container, away from heat, cold, and moisture and out of direct sunlight.
There are many different ways to brew your coffee. We've included some of our favorite brew methods and recipes that we think complement our coffee well. Enjoy! Remember, these are not strict rules and you should brew your coffee the way you like it.
